Preparing for Fall Clean Up: Knowing the Yard Waste Disposal Program in Your City
Every city in Hennepin County offers a different yard waste disposal program and because we service customers all over the Minneapolis metro area we thought it would be helpful to compile a list here of the information for leaf pick ups in each city.
We hope that our customers will find this list helpful as they are making plans for their Fall Clean Ups with us this season.
Weekly Clean Ups with Peterson Lawn will begin the week of October 12th, and One Time Clean Ups will begin the week of November 2nd. If you have any questions regarding our Fall Clean Up service, please call our office at: 952-252-3301.

Please observe these requirements:
- Brush must be cut and bundled with string; branches cannot exceed four feet in length and four inches in diameter.

Golden Valley’s recycling program includes a three-week curbside brush pick-up in May and a three-weekend leaf drop-off program in the fall, as long as funds are available. Golden Valley’s annual fall leaf drop-off provides residents a monitored site to dispose of their leaves at no charge during the last weekend in October and the first two weekends in November.
The City provides FREE street leaf and yard waste pick up in your area using front-end loaders and dump trucks. Pick up in these areas will be November 2–5. Refer to the schedule below for your neighborhood’s pick up day:
- Bellgrove: Monday, November 2
- Interlachen Park: Tuesday, November 3 (Meadowbrook Rd up to & including Maple Hill Rd)
- Park Ridge: Wednesday, November 4
- Hobby Acres: Wednesday, November 4
- Interlachen Park: Thursday, November 5 (Interlachen Rd to Blake Rd)
Place leaves in loose piles (unbagged) in the streets along the curb line. Leaves should be placed on the street no later than 7 am on your scheduled pick-up day. There will not be free bagged yard waste pick up in these neighborhoods.

The Minnetonka Public Works facility accepts leaves and yard waste in the spring and fall, and brush from April to the Saturday before Thanksgiving from Minnetonka residents. The leaf drop-off and brush drop-off programs have different processing methods and distinct end markets for the different materials, so it’s important they stay separate. Follow this link for specific dates for each of the drop-off programs.
The yard waste site is available to Plymouth residents. It is located next to the Plymouth Maintenance Facility at 14900 23rd Ave N.
