Tip #4 For a tidy garden: Deadheading!

By July 4, 2014 September 29th, 2020 No Comments

Deadheading

This just means that you periodically go through your garden and remove old blooms well as sick, damaged, or dead plant material.  Deadheading can help your plants flower longer or rebloom later in the season.  It can also help keep any plant diseases from spreading if you remove dead or damaged material.

Deadheading can be done with your hands or with a small hand pruner.  If you have a disease problem in your garden make sure your gloves are clean and your hand pruner has been sanitized with rubbing alcohol!

Removing these dead flowers will make these plants look much nicer!
