We’ve sure been getting plenty of rain in Minnesota this spring!
In fact, this is the wettest start to the year since 1871! According to Fox 9 news we’ve had 19.73 inches of rainfall in the past 80 days – that’s two thirds of what we normally get in an entire year.
While all this rain is great news for our lawns and gardens, it sure does put a crimp in our mowing schedule and in any plans you may have for doing yard work. In the case of rainfall heavy enough to cancel an entire day, our mowing schedule is pushed back one day. In the case of two consecutive rain days where we have to cancel both days, the first day of mowing is skipped for the week and subsequent mow days are pushed back one day.
For example, if it rains on Wednesday, this is what our schedule will look like:
Rain day —- Wednesday
Wednesday customers — mowed on Thursday
Thursday customers — mowed on Friday
Friday customers — mowed on Saturday
If it rains on Wednesday AND Thursday, this is what our schedule will look like:
Rain day 1 — Wednesday
Rain day 2 — Thursday
Wednesday customers — skipped for the week
Thursday customers — mowed on Friday
Friday customers — mowed on Saturday
So far this year, in spite of all the rain, we have not had to completely cancel an entire day of mowing. Let’s hope this continues to be the case. Thanks for sticking with us as we endure Mother Nature’s unpredictable temperament this season.
If you are ever wondering about how the weather is affecting our mow schedule, please feel free to give our office a call: 952-252-3301
Also, please note that if you would like to cancel your mow for the week due to standing water in your yard or soggy turf please make sure to do so at least 24 hours in advance. We do our best to honor all requests for changes to our schedule, but giving us enough time to make the changes necessary is very helpful.
